BGUCC Sunday School

The BGUCC Sunday School is busy learning about God, the Bible, and Christian living.  Through stories from the Church World Service, they learn about the lives of children throughout the world.  They are an integral part of our church as they work along side adults with our outreach programs and service to the community.

In the past month, the children participated in the church car wash (9/16), picked apples and made apple pies for our apple pie fundraiser (9/23), weeded and planted flowers around the church bell (9/24), helped at the Grape Harvest Festival (10/7), and greeted bikers during the churchıs bike rest stop (10/8).  Great job kids!!! Pictures of the apple picking can be seen here.

Future activities include sending a care package to soldiers in Iraq (10/15 11/5), the CROP Walk on October 22, movie night (Prince of Egypt) on Nov. 12, and the Christmas Pageant on Dec. 17, 2006.  More fun and educational activities are in the plans for 2007!

Tote That Pail!

Steve, Peter and Tim tried carrying water on their heads like the boys their age do in many villages in Africa and around the world. Many people do not have water in their homes, so the boys of the family have to haul water from the village well to their homes after school. The buckets, filled with water, are very heavy and the boys have to make several trips to get all the water their family uses that day. They have to haul water every day, even on weekends! Steve, Tim and Peter did not like the thought of having to do such heavy work every day. This is why they wanted to walk in the CROP walk. They knew that the money they raised will benefit many people in the world who are less fortunate then themselves:
